I've just found out about the EQ2 Dev blog and I must confess that I think the the Living Legacy promotion is brilliant. As a former trial user (from 2005!) who planned on getting EQ2 but followed friends to WoW, EQ2 has always been something I meant to come back to someday and the LL promotion gave me a perfect reason to jump in.

Whereas my last memories of EQ's starting experience were somewhat less favourable (this was during the time of Isle of Refuge and everyone only chose their archetype at creation I believe) I am having a blast playing now. The many refinements from launch til the latest updates really did wonders.

I believe I'm gonna be converting to a regular subscriber come LL's end. I hope to see more great things from the team, congratulations.

From my Posting on the EQdev blog site

"I would like to see an Everquest Pass, providing access to both Everquest games without the additional games provided by the station pass.
A suggested price might be 2/3 the value of holding both accounts, ie $20.00 US a month.
A service like this might encourage more players to be active in both games, helping the player population in both over all."

Just a small request: don't forget the people who've been loyal in favor of those who haven't. I applaud the decision to market a bit, and will welcome new players wholeheartedly, but I know some people will be mad that others get RoK free when they had to pay for it. I hope that as somebody who's played constantly since I started, I can get a fae drake pet just like the new people. No point cheating the ones who have stayed while rewarding the ones that left. If that ends up being the case it will hurt the customer base more than help it, and inflame loyal players.

I do like the idea though, bringing in new people and old players sounds great. I can level some alts with them :)

We are Aussies who went to Cali last April/May.

Being from a Country that is so young, Renn faires are all but unheard of here.

We went to the Renn Pleasure faire at the Sante Fe Dam. We were blown away by it.

Thank you for bringing back a happy holiday memory :)

I guess I'm confused about something. Is it or is it not okay (against rules?) to buy plat for your character? Of course, if you found a reputable company, etc

A thing that would solve, or at least help a little, would be if the different loot windows did not stack on top of each other but instead popped up beside each other. That way my situational awareness would be greatly increased.

I realize some (or perhaps most) people would hate having the windows swamp all over the screan, but there could perhaps be a Settings option to stack/unstack loot windows?

The problem that can arise from loosing aggro to a scout and having the mob turn was the first thing I thought about when I read this. I'd rather have two different imbues (one hate gain, one love gain). But I guess I'll have to try the system out before passing any real judgment on it.

PUG's are good for lots of laughs. Mostly I'm impressed how well people play, but naturally there are occasional duds.

I know what you mean about the loot timer running out. I think it's because while items are presented sequentially when NBG's selected, the timer starts running when the first window comes up.

Maybe have some way of presenting all the items at once, like it does for the regular lotto? Say two checkboxes by each item, "Need" and "Greed" (or just "Loot"), and the usual "Loot All", "Loot Selected" and "Decline" buttons. Under NBG hitting "Loot All" would Need all items with that checkbox marked and Greed all others. "Loot Selected" would Need or Greed for any items with a box checked and decline anything with neither box checked. "Decline" would decline everything regardless of checkboxes. With the regular lotto the buttons would loot everything, loot only checked items or decline everything much the way the window works now.

Heh. The funny thing is I just noticed that with Need Before Greed today too.

I was partying with a friend that was helping me with the second quest of the Mithaniel Marr quest. Then a big chest dropped from one of the named mobs in the Throne Room of Crushbone keep and the first item that appears is some junk loot or something like that.

So I think "Huh, this is weird. Shouldn`t a chest like this have something better? Or at least more stuff on it?"

Then I click on greed and then next thing that appears is an advanced recipe, then greed again since none of us can use it and finally a Master I book.

At the time I thought those windows would stay there until everybody chose an option but it is good to know that there is a timer for them and that it might increase in the future. If it does I know who to sacrificed a treasured item for. ;)
